For the first time in more than four decades, the Australian Ashes summer will begin at a ground other than the Gabba. The Perth Stadium in Western Australia is set to host its maiden Ashes encounter when England come touring for the first Test of the series in the 2025-26 of Australia summer, announced Cricket Australia on Wednesday. The Perth Stadium will become only the eighth venue to host an Ashes encounter in Australia. The first Test is scheduled to begin on November 21.

The encounter at Perth, a city where England have previously won one only one Ashes encounter, will be followed by a day-night Test at The Gabba in Brisbane, starting December 4. The second Test at the Gabba will be Brisbane’s third day-night men’s Test, having previously hosted Pakistan (2016) and Sri Lanka (2019). The third Test will be at the Adelaide Oval, followed by the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and the New Year’s Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground
